Welcome to El Camino Real District UMW! We include the Northern California region from Brentwood in the northeast, to Soledad in the south, to South San Francisco in the northwest.

United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.

“El Camino Real,” or “The King’s Highway,” was established in the early 1800’s as a route linking the missions, pueblos, and presidios, from San Diego to Sonoma. Today the route is marked by replicas of mission bells, as it had been in 1915. See more about El Camino Real and the mission bells here.

Spiritual Retreat at Mission Springs

“Soul Tending: Spirituality for Everyday Life”
Friday, March 31 – Sunday, April 2, 2017 at Mission Springs, Scotts Valley, CA
Our retreat leader is Pastor Linda Holbrook, of Palo Alto First UMC.  As a certified Spiritual Director, Pastor Linda enjoys listening to, and walking with others on their spiritual journeys.
We will also have time for walking the trails, reading, singing, doing needlework, and sharing with each other or spending time in solitude. And don’t forget about the talent show – bring a song or other performance, solo or in a group, to share on Saturday evening!

Scholarships:  We are pleased to be able to offer scholarships for this event.  First-time attendees may apply for a scholarship that covers all but $30 of the registration fee (for lowest-cost housing), and other attendees may apply for a partial scholarship that covers all but $85 of the registration fee (also for lowest-cost housing).
