Welcome to El Camino Real District UMW! We include the Northern California region from Brentwood in the northeast, to Soledad in the south, to South San Francisco in the northwest.
United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.
“El Camino Real,” or “The King’s Highway,” was established in the early 1800’s as a route linking the missions, pueblos, and presidios, from San Diego to Sonoma. Today the route is marked by replicas of mission bells, as it had been in 1915. See more about El Camino Real and the mission bells here.

2016 California-Nevada Conference UMW Annual Celebration
Saturday, October 15, 2016. “Legacy: Nurturing Growth for Christ.” The Celebration will be 8:45am-3:30pm, at First United Methodist Church, Santa Rosa, 1551 Montgomery Dr., Santa Rosa, CA.
Registration opens at 8:00am.
Our special guest speaker is Rev. Cynthia Statement of Hanford First UMC. Her career path toward becoming a pastor has had many turns, and has brought her many adventures that she will share with us.
In addition to the Celebration service, there will be four workshops, plus opportunities to purchase program resources. There will also be a Mission Market and a Legacy Silent Auction.

2016 El Camino Real District UMW Annual Celebration
Saturday, October 22, 2016. “UMW in Mission: Our Legacy, Our Future.” The Celebration will be 9:30am-3:30pm, at First United Methodist Church, Palo Alto, 625 Hamilton Ave., Palo Alto, CA.
Registration opens at 8:45am, and gathering with music begins at 9:15am.
Greet new and old friends from across the district! Make beautiful music together, worship God, participate in workshops, and celebrate our year in mission. Special guest speaker Rev. Paul Jeffrey will share stories of lives transformed by United Methodist Women.
